At Kindred Souls Counseling, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for folx* and their families who have marginalized identities, while offering support and empowerment, so that they may begin to follow their own sacred journey toward emotional healing and growth.
*The use here of the word "folx" instead of "folks" is intentional, and is meant to explicitly signal the inclusion of groups commonly marginalized.

Hello, my name is Al Connolly, and my pronouns are she/her. I have over ten years of experience in providing mental health counseling. I enjoy providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and adults, and specialize in working with grief and loss, LGBTQIA2S+ concerns, domestic violence survivors, women's wellness, empowerment, assertiveness, healthy boundaries, identity, body image, self-esteem, postpartum health, and sexuality, as well as treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders. I love my work so much that I am pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I also love to teach and mentor counselors-in-training.
When I am not working or studying, I am busy raising my two amazing children and hanging out with my rescue dogs and cat. I love exploring the world around me and spending time in nature by camping, hiking, rock picking, chasing the Northern Lights, and cold water dipping in Lake Superior. I also love to spend time reading, crocheting projects that I will probably never finish, playing the violin, folk dancing, attending protests, fighting the patriarchy, practicing my German, eating tons of sushi, drinking too much coffee, watching plays and musicals, and volunteering with Girl Scouts.
I can't wait to meet and connect with you, and walk along side as you begin your sacred counseling journey!
